GOOD NEWS!
I am so relieved right now, I've been moping around the house just looking after my cat and crying every time she throws up (she's been throwing up a bit more blood in her vomit - not that much but a little more each time) but now I know why and I know there's a solution.
Worms. I heard the sound of more retching in my room and thought "oh no, Tigris is throwing up again". My other cat (Artemis) had thrown up on my window sill, and the proof is in the - well erm, in the pudding I guess you could say. This explains why my older cat has been throwing up and has an irradiated stomach.
Help is on the way, and until then I can comfort her knowing that she's going to get better.

For the last few days my oldest cat has been vomiting (sometimes foam) we took her to the vet's and he told us that it could be a bad hairball or kidney failure. He gave us hairball medicine and advised us that if she didn't stop throwing up a blood test would be in order. My mother advised me that if it was something old age related we'd be putting her down.
