So...A couple of weeks ago I sliced up my hand with the lid to a cat food can.
That was fun.
I'd been having problems with the 9Lives lately. The lids were amazingly difficult to peel back, so I started firmly holding the can to the counter with my left hand and straining with the lid with my right. I had splashed cat food juice all over myself one too many times.
The lid popped and flew right through the flesh of my left hand between the thumb and pointer finger...OWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!
I'm not good with blood and human meat and such, so I demanded the assistance of my husband...After he and my mother looked it over while I reclined on the couch with my feet over the back so as not to pass out...They both agreed that stitches were in order.
The asshole ER doctor refused to wait for the pain killer to start working...so...I felt the first 4 stitches and 2 agonizing shots...But hey...It sure was nice not to feel that last stitch...grrrr...
Then they tell me that I can go right back to work (typing all day) the next day...However, the paperwork read: "Keep elevated" and "Avoid use"...WTF?
Then the idiots further the madness by suggesting that I keep an antibacterial ointment on it at all times...Which was fine until my doctor removed the stitches and the wound proceeded to gape and ooze.
Seems that the moisture kept it from bonding or whatever.....
Where was Dr. Popp when I needed her???
My cats are not starving as a result of my trauma...I simply switched to another brand with more agreeable lids...Friskies...(:
Now I'm just going to have a super nasty scar on my previously gorgeous hand...
And...as a result of missing two weeks of work...I'm now BROKE BROKE BROKE!!!
Juggling bills sux...
I forgot my ulcer meds this morning and then I ate all kinds of acidic stuff and worried all freakin day about money...I just wanted to come home and cry, but I think I've worked it all out...Some things will just have to be paid late...d:
