I am currently considering upgrading from my current phone to a Sidekick II. Its a cool toy and I like it. However, I'm not sure its worth the money for me to get it. I'm currently doing fine well with my flip phone and Palm Zire. Well, my phone misses a lot of calls, but otherwise I'm doing fine. All you people out there in Sidekick land, is

So ayla_geffen and I are meeting her mom at Mother's for some food one friday after work. I'm standing outside when I remember I forgot to get ticket's to the Firefly Butt-Numb-athon. I'm frantic... then I pull out my sidekick and buy tickets. The meal was great and I was not sad.

I think the sidekick is great. My camera crapped out recently though (one too many days left in a car in the texas summer maybe?). I didn't use it much anyway. I don't use the phone function much, but the calendar and email and web and instant freakin' messaging is amazing. I'm also not much into handheld games.

Another one.. Last night I'm at a meeting, and we are trying to schedule a recording session for this movie soundtrack, and so they say "Joe? Are you available Sunday?" I just look at them and say "I'm checking" (I'm just sitting there drinking my beer) and they look at me all confused. Then my pants make a noise and I see that Steph has responded to the IM I had sent while everyone was discussing scheduling. So I say I'm free. And they laugh.

I don't know the state of pedestrian phone technology or whatever, but I love my sidekick. The only thing I want now is for Apple to buy Danger and make the Sidekick Nano. I even have my hiptop syncing to my iCal and Address Book on my mac finally.
