Chronicle of Physical Complaints

Warning: This post will be boring and self centered.

We're having a great deal of physical issue that most everyone here would like to ignore. We all know the neck pain is not going away, this will be a forever thing. There is little relief without pain medications and we refuse to use them daily due to possible addition. Using pain medications causes problems with where and how to keep that supply open. Doctors will not prescribe what they see as addictive drugs. I can't really fault them on this, they're watched by big brother for excessive "over prescribing."

Tuesday we finally see the neurologist with two brain MRI's in hand. This visit is about the weakness in our legs and arms as well as the clumsiness that's shown up in our ability to walk. There are spells of dizziness that come at weird times. They feel much like when one stands too quickly, but the body is sitting. The clumsiness is getting worse I think.

In that corner of loosing our balance. We took a hard fall onto the tile floor in our kitchen. Ravin says, "it was more like a hard slide into home without the cheers." Our piercing cut to the bone on our eyebrow and bled quiet a bit. We seem to have pulled a whole set of muscles under our left breast. Terri's been wrapping it for us. The left hand is sore, the pad on the thumb is bruised and tender where we hit the tile. The right hip has a dull throb, I think we must have twisted it when that foot caught on the leg of the chair. Our left hip is tender to start, it's where they harvested bone for our first neck fusion. We fell fast and without any attempt to save the body. This was probably good since trying to stop a fall is usually where people receive the most injuries. The day after we were dizzy, sleepy and nauseous. When we tried to read, the words all went swimming causing our nausea to spiral. We're all wondering just how hard had we hit our head? Today the body is still experiencing pain in the muscles, a bit of the dizzy and still very sleepy. The reading problem has righted itself, which is especially helpful since we have to drive today.

In another arena of our body, the womb, has begun menstruating. We've become part of the negative statistic, that 3 percentile that continues to menstruate after Ablation. The last two monthly visits have returned with progressively more bleeding, which is graciously light, but very disappointing. Also newly arrived is weight gain in our middle, the body feels bloated and swollen. What's really frustrating is this has all brought increased lower back pain, cramping and gas. It's this gas pain that set us on edge Thanksgiving day, we've never before had this level of pain that was not inflicted. The hard part in all this? It's adding more body pain and confusing symptoms.

We are in need of another eye exam, our glasses have lost their correction. Also there's probably an increase on the cataracts. Hank says driving at night has become increasingly annoying because of the halo effect on the lights. Of all the physical issues this one will be the easiest to correct.

Oh yes! I over looked R's depression, how it effects the whole system. It's like pulling a barge through sand up hill. My own depression was enough to struggle against, adding the effect of hers has left me drained and hollow most days. I wish R could find some way to contain her depression, that's greedy I'm sure, but it's such a strain on everyone.

The body's aging was quite a surprise for many in our system. We do not all feel or see the body at it's chronological years. It's taking some more time to adjust.

Nikie...

I finally went and read how to make the cut. Kool. Nik's not to happy with the title booboos. *snicker* Ravin
