Thanks for you kind comment. I tried to write the counties' dialogue so that non-Brits might be able to understand the various accents, but given how broad regional accents are it was quite hard.

Oh I'm sure you did a great job in writing down their dialects. But since I'm not even a native speaker there was only a low chance for me to understand them from the very begining.^^

Your English is a Hell of a lot better than my German. The quickest way to confuse me when talking in German is to talk in an accent that isn't a Dusseldorf accent. I went to Austria once... it took me days to get an ear for that accent and stop sounding like a moron when I repeated everything in a mangled combination of English and Dusseldorf accents before answering. They probably thought I was really weird.

I actually have no idea how they talk in Düsseldorf but I guess it's different from the region I live in. But don't worry about your trip to Austria. My family and I go there often for vacation and I have problems to uderstand them as well.^^
