Most of the time, Jason hated the city, hated being cooped up inside the loft, feeling caged. There was no wilderness in New York, at least not anything that wasn't already claimed and being fought over. And he wasn't desperate enough to haunt the zoo yet. Most days he occasionally wished they were someplace smaller and more peaceful than here.
Nights like tonight though, he loved. The windows were wide open and the sky was clear, letting the lights and noise of the city in. Sitting on one of the window seats, his back against the window frame, a drink cradled in his hands, Jason took it all in. Nights like tonight made him want to never leave this place.
