Never Before, and I doubt ever again
There is a reason why I do not watch much tv. There is a reason I am picky about the sci-fi / fantasy I read and watch. There are a lot of GOOD shows out there. But none ... not one single show, not one single team or writers has the balls to do what Ronald D Moore and David Eick did. This is why Battlestar Galactica is hands down the BEST EVER series to be aired on tv.

Name one TV series that spawned a United Nations Summit to discuss things like; A woman's right to choose, Suicide bombings, torture and mistreatment of prisoners of war, human rights and violations of said human rights. Here's a clue .... ONLY ONE ever did this at this level.
