On her way

Immediately after seeing her letter mailed, Rain returned to the inn and packed her meager supplies.  Her mind searched for someone to say goodbye to, someone to inform that she was leaving, but no one within the city came to mind.  She felt terrible for what had happened the night before, yet justified.  Dorini had been in his cups again, and said hurtful things meant to sting.  Where once she would have simply shoved the snide remarks away with all the other darkness in her life, now she had nowhere to put it.  The darkness had been cast out, and she was left with the entirely new sensation of dealing with the issues bothering her head on.

She had stalked away from her brother, and as she stood beside the street trying to regain her calm both he and Cristianno had approached her.  Being far too furious with her brother, she allowed her anger to spill over and lashed out at the other man as well.  She bitterly regretted the things she had said to him, the way she had treated him.  But the thing that had torn her to pieces inside was him, calling her "ma'am" as though he had no feelings left for her whatever.

She hefted her bag onto her shoulder and headed for the spire.  She was going to Undercity, and from there to Grom'gol.  She was unsure how to approach Stormwind from the north, but she knew where the safe passage from the south was.  She needed to see someone unconnected with her life right now, and the first person to pop to her mind was the serving girl from the Slaughtered Lamb.  Rain felt something inside that girl, a need ignored and unfulfilled.  Having the same feeling herself, she thought it would clear her mind to pay a call on Anna.

Standing upon the platform awaiting the zeppelin, a thought occurred to her. She glanced down at the ring upon her finger, the only means of instant communication she had.  As she closed her eyes, she concentrated on sending a short message, the distance taking a toll on her energy as she forced the ring to send her words.  She apologized to Vondrike, telling him she would be in Thunder Bluff in no more than two days.  She gasped, letting out the breath she didn't realize she had been holding as she sent the communique on it's way.
