I will have more to report later-ish, because I need to ask a Very Important Question to the guys that read this journal. However, I got to see diagrams of the prenatal formation of sexual organs, which was amusing and yet perplexing (because there was like... a mountain of eventual-penis-and/or-vagina protruding from between a pair of fully-formed legs on the 'undetermined' diagram.

For the last time, Richard Preston's Ebola and Smallpox books don't belong to me, dammit! And neither does Hannibal "The Cannibal" Lector, unless he becomes possessed or bears Satan's lovechild or turns into a vampire!

And lo, didst the first twelve chapters of her new (and unedited) Twilight book become leaked. And thus spacketh the Meyers, "I'm so sad and hurt by this that I'll never the book. NEVER!"
And lo, didst the squealing fangirls whine and complain.

Okay, so it's shitty that someone leaked the chapters. But they're fucking beta. Meyers, get the hell over it and finish the series so I don't have to listen to half the county bitch and moan.

Right, so I skimmed the 4th Edition Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting book, and I only have one question.
Where the fuck is my setting, Wizards of the Coast? Or maybe it would be better if I just said WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK IS THIS SHIT?
Did you guys just think 'hurr hurr let's kill all of the gods but sixteen of them and not give the readers any complete history of the one hundred years they've missed, they'll pay $40 for that'? And where's Maztica and Zakhara and Kara-Tur? Again? Why do you keep leaving them out? THEY'RE ESTABLISHED CANON.
Anyway, I will be doing a minor integration of it for my FR/DnD characters (bloodedhunter, rageofbhaal, bhaalitebard, blackchill, honoringblood, shadowhare, and spidercityking), and this is what it means for those characters and the characters that interact with them.
As was mentioned, the transition from 3E to 4E was essentially a jump of 100 years. Most of the gods are dead, left, or lost most of their power in the interim, due to Cyric (bloodedhunter's namesake) doing an incredibly stupid thing and killing the goddess that basically controlled all arcane magic. Needless to say, that made magic go hinkey which made everything else get weird, which included monsters splitting off into magical variants, various evil beings either settling in or becoming even MORE evil, and this really itchy, discolored rash that apparently broke off from Toril's sister planet or continent or some weird shit like that.
Cyric (mine, not the god) is going to be the first one to notice and investigate, and subsequently warn his relatives/employees/friends that something's seriously fucked up. This won't have much of an effect on Ash or Tsuko, since they work in a completely different version of the Forgotten Realms. Also, Brom and Raven would cease to exist if they entered a 4E universe (given that Genasi and Werejackals have been stricken from DnD), so they'll not be going back.
Tez is probably going to plot-locked/on temporary hiatus until Thanksgiving, but he might do some investigating when he gets back. Grint is similarly going to take a look at it, and may or may not decide that staying the hell away is a good idea. Cyric will not be going back after his initial visit, since it's going to be something of a doozy, you could say.
