I read (or, reading, present tense - I'm not done yet) the yuppiness you refer to more as a kind of limp Bret Easton Ellis-ism, inflating the class signifiers marketed to people as a means to show the superficial consumerism permeating the culture.

I thought that too but the more I read it the more I...didn't see it that way, especially with the fact that there is a void of anybody who ISN'T a rich person. Just different KINDS of rich people.

Which is to say, when I eat a grass-fed organic steak with Kira & Nino, we don't refer to it as "grass-fed organic steak" every time we mention it.

Also never ever ever learn writing "tricks" from Bret Easton Ellis.

Interesting. I sometimes listen to Klausner's podcast which is very snarky and has good guests. I didn't even know she wrote a book somehow. I wonder if she was rich growing up.

Yeah, Jennifer picked it because of hearing her on podcasts, I'm pretty sure. Personally, I know nothing about her. Except I think she has a couple of books?
