Why didn't you like the new Serenity? (I haven't read it, just curious).

man, you totally converted me on that. have you been reading the green lantern stuff with dc? also so good. so weird that sci-fi comics are the stuff that has been kicking ass.

yes, there definately is: the sinestro corps war. you don't have to be a fan as long as you've got the ability to read the comic language, if you know what i mean. it is slightly less convoluted than anihilation wave i think.

oh, how i love gail simone. i'm finally proud to be seen in public with my wonder woman comics, though i haven't gotten around to reading 19 yet.

i agree with your ff score. it's good, but it's not Ultimates good. i thought that all-star superman was dynamite. i don't really care for superman, but grant morrisson is making me believe!

what didn't you like about kick-ass? i like the approach of the book a lot.

i'm pretty much over...everything in the ultimates. for a while i was enthusiastic, now i just yawn. it has turned into the 80s & 90s. all-star & iron fist are the best comics currently being made. kick-ass is just not clicking with me. like-- yeah, dude. i get it. there is suspension of disbelief in comics. but i'm now sick of this fumbling & yadda yadda. i see it as the inheritor of other works like "brat pack" where they're like "lol, comics, so dumb." okay, not that bad. now i'm being overly inflammatory. really it isn't my cup of tea, is all. the art is great though.

bear in mind that this is an attempt not to be great inflating. so a c is still pretty good.

whoa, i need to make one thing really clear: i meant mark millar and bryan hitch Ultimates. this crap they are calling the Ultimates now is offal and awful. Jeph Loeb is the most over-rated hack writer out there and madieura's art is abyssmal.

jeph loeb: i just don't get it. he's...um...rubbish? there are occasional MOMENTS in his writing. there are even things he's done that were okay. but yikes, taken as a body of work...yeah. hush? what even happened in that? anyhow, yeah, there were good times had with the ultimates, but now that light has dimmed.
