Smile
I consider evil smiling and jump scares the low-hanging-fruit of the horror genre. 'Smile' is base solely around those two things. I'll admit, it does it very well, but it's still not my kind of horror. Grade: C+
Raze
In some sort tournament for the wealthy's amusement, abducted women are forced to fight to the death in an underground brick room. It's a low budget movie that could have been really entertaining, but it just lacked a certain spark to really excite the story.Grade: D+
Stake Land
I'd seen this one before and loved it. I enjoyed it again this time, but maybe not quite as much. It's about vampires (that are more like zombies than like Dracula) and a man & boy that are traveling north to evade them. Grade: B+
Rawhead Rex
Rawhead Rex is like a Godzilla movie. The story is really inconsequential. You watch it because you want to see the monster show up and tear stuff apart. This movie is not a great movie, but it has a rad monster in it. Any movie would be lucky to have him. Grade: C-
