Well, Janine has been taken out of daycare and evolved almost instantly! Her attacks have become amazingly powerful in a very short amount of time.
Unfortunately, this meant that Ginny had to be sent back to Bill's pokemon ranch. I don't think she minded, though. I think all of the fighting was making her nervous. I can't say that I blame her.
Anyway, we've caught several new friends lately, including Jenna, the Hypno. She seems eager to battle, but a little too jealous of Kai's importance to me. She and the others are all back at the ranch. Shauna, the Diglett that never wants to come out of her hole, Achmed, who I will make sure to NEVER teach selfdestruct, his temper is too wild for that, and Anita, the geodude, or is that geodame? Geodudette? Geodamsel? I don't know...
The trip on the S.S. Anne was a nightmare...
As soon as we were out to sea, well away from shore, we came to realize that we were trapped out there with that sociopath, Gary Oak...
We did our best to avoid him, ducking into other people's rooms when we had to, leading to more than a few harrowing battles as the other passengers thought we were trying to rob them or something. Thankfully, most of them understood after we explained what was going on. After all, this boat was filled with trainers who SHARED my point of view, that remember back when pokemon battles WEREN'T life or death affairs.
Unfortunately, I took a wrong turn and ended up on the main deck of the ship with Gary right behind me. He trapped us there and forced us to battle. Thankfully, I made quick work of most of his crew, having trained my team well. However, when his last pokemon fell, a huge, muscular raticate, he forced it to get back up and attack while my back was turned. He didn't tell it to attack my pokemon, he told it to attack ME!
In one swift motion, Elaine dove between us, scooping up the massive rodent, and seismic tossed it..
Right into the sea..
Gary let out a scream like nothing I had ever hear and dove into a lifeboat, dropping down into the water. The lifeboat being released caused several alarms to sound and we were returned to port.
After dealing with Gary, Lieutenant Surge's gym challenge was a joke. My team swept through his pokemon like he was a novice trainer. It was a little anticlimactic really, seeing as how I was afraid he would be the one to cause the next loss of a friend.
That nightmare over with, I now face perhaps the hardest part of my journey. Saying goodbye...
Tomorrow, I head through the rock tunnel, and into Lavender Town....
