I feel like a LJ user, reading my friends' posts but never contributing. Well, NO LONGER!
That's right! As I'm moving into my new apartment at the end of the month, now just seems like the perfect time to turn over a new leaf and start fresh.
As you may recall from my brief stint as a rock star a few months ago, I won a brand new Fender bass and amp. Just imagine the bass in black, and you'll get an idea of how sexy it is. I'm currently teaching myself how to play, though I will go to Freddie when I have questions. I have to be careful with online tabs, however. There's a lot of idiots out there who make things needlessly difficult, but this means I'm learning more when I correct them. Last night I taught myself Pearl Jam's Jeremy and Soundgarden's Outshined. The one I'm really enjoying at the moment is the Chili Peppers' Hey from their latest album. The entire song is Flea jamming on chords, which sound amazing to play. One of my favorite songs from last year was New York, I Love You But You're Bringing Me Down by LCD Soundsystem, but there's no tabs, so I'm making one myself. I'm quite proud of my progress! Each night, before turning out the lights, I sit at my computer and watch my idol. He's so dreamy...
And I know that I've fallen behind on my annual Nate's Life playlist, but bear with me. It's on the way. I've been busy!
