suicide girls legally resells photos without models' permission. this isn't really up for debate. many former suicide girls will attest to this. and you can go SEE for yourself. if you are familiar with SG at all, you will see a lot of familiar faces. when threatened with legal action, these sites produced evidence that they legally purchased the photos from SG. considering sue-happy SG never sought legal action against these companies for using THEIR copyrighted images, i think it's safe to accept this as fact.

as if reselling the models' photos to a site they didn't agree to be associated with wasn't bad enough, i learned something very interesting which makes SG's actions even more despicable. apparently the Child Protection and Obscenity Enforcement Act of 1988 requires producers, publishers, creators and the like of pornographic material to keep extensive records of all the personal information of those performing in the the pornographic material. the specific wikipdia article im using for reference here (it has citations, im not about to link to the actual law because no one will read it) only mentions proof of age verification. this may not include a SS# but will most definitely include a model's real name. that means every time SG sells a model's images, they also sell ALL the personal information they collected from her. go look at a model app and you realize how scary this is. think stalkers. think identity theft. think attempting to pursue another career post alt modeling.

when models began to speak out years ago about seeing their images on hardcore porn sites SG's argument was that the material had been lost or leaked. even if this is the case, the number of models' with "leaked or lost" images and personal info says a lot about SG business practices.

i know most people don't give a shit. but this company prays upon girls with no self esteem who desperately want to be part of this cool scene. on top of that they are destroying one of my favorite photographers.
