So, I realize it's been a while a quite a while since I posted, and I'm sorry that it has to be on the same tone as last time. Many of you know this already but my Grandmother (my Mother's mother) died last tuesday, April 29th. I basically grew up with her, having combined households with her and my grandfather in the summer of 1987 when he was diagnosed with cancer.
It's been a long slow trip with her, she had several strokes over the last few years and has been bed ridden for the last 6 months. I feel conflicted in this as I'm happy that she was finally able to move on, she was definitely ready. At the same time I feel sad for my family to have dealt with list loss along with the others this year.
Her funeral will be this Saturday, May 10th, graveside at National Memorial Park where she will be buried next to my grandfather. There will be a short service with a gathering to follow at my parents house. If you are interested in coming to either the service or the gathering afterward please let me know. Sorry for the short notice, there has just been a lot to deal with over the last month.
