So Sam finally came home the end of April but one cannot post such things online due to OPSEC and the fear of the taliban watching the internet highway. It has had to be the worst 6.5 months ever and have been through every emotion possible BUT in another sense it has shown me just how strong emotionally I really am.
I may not have had to fight in the land of sand but have had my own personal battles from the loss of my step grandmother at the start of the tour, battles with two phone companies to do with Sam's mobile (had to fight for him not to pay bills for tour and won) and with the service that was my only communication with him (Paradigm). I also founght and won with utility companies and the general public....basically I no longer take any shit from anyone no matter how big a company thry may be and have even battled on behalf of wives (who actually have an easier ride than girlfriends as they have the full support of the army behind them).
So now I have to learn to live with him again and all the teething problems, be vigilant for the signs of PTSD AND still battling on. They say it takes an additional 6 months for the lads to get over the tour after they come back. Sadly we lost 3 of the regiment and one of the lads I had actually met but I have found new friends in the wives and some respect too. It got to the point the wives were asking information from me rather then the welfare site. I have always strongle believed that if you want answers you should ask no matter how hard the situation is
