(no subject)
Well, I know I haven't been posting that much but there isn't to much and I'm sorry. I'm sure the word is out now, my Brigade was extended in Iraq for 120 days so I won't be coming home. I also found out that I will not be going to Redstone anymore. The unit I was supposed to go to has deleted that slot and I am now on assignment to Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah, Georgia. I had so hoped to be able to get to Huntsville and see all my friends again, but it looks like it just wasn't in the cards.
This whole extension thing has really got me down. I'm missing my Connor's (my son) second birthday in a row. I'm missing four more months with April. I'm stuck in Iraq, all hot and sweaty, walking everywhere and my body is a mess. I had hoped to recuperate some when I managed to get home.
All the soldiers are upset and a recent officer told me that he expects there to be an influx of detainees over the next several months. I told him that more than likely there would be an influx in dead bodies because there is a pissed off Stryker Brigade on the ground. Who knows.
