A channel ten reporter just used the term "would be refugees" to describe asylum seekers. Let's get this clear, you idiotic fuck. People do not aspire to be refugees. They do not sit and think "You know, I really really hope a war/earthquake/genocidal government comes along to force me out of my home, possibly kills my family and drives me away, because that would be grand". Nor do they need to have a government dump them in a detention centre in Nauru before they qualify as refugees. People are not "would be refugees". Ever.
