I screamed at a bus driver this morning. The whole *Select* bus service they turned my regular bus service into is a huge mess. You have to use your existing metrocard to purchase a paper ticket on the curb before getting on the bus. Unfortunately the machines for purchasing the tickets often have lines and the bus was pulling away as a bunch of people were on line to get the paper tickets. The reason this is very stupid for me is that I have an Unlimited Bus Pass... which means that I don't spend any more or any less money regardless of how often I take public transportation in NYC. So I jump on and I just started yelling at him that it was unfair that he should pull away as we're trying to get the tickets. The new *select* bus service is very slow and I might have had to wait upwards of 20 minutes for the next bus. I told him to call the cops if he felt the need to and I jumped onboard without a ticket.
So he says, "This is what they tell me to do. Nothing you or I say can change it." And we get into an argument about how I need the bus to get to work, and I go to work to pay taxes which supplement the MTA. So he says."Why don't you just stay home?" Which made no sense. I said "I wish I could afford to have a home with no job." I stopped yelling at him at that point. I have a sore throat and sounded like a prepubescent boy trying to yell across a bus at a pissy little bus driver. I might as well have been yelling "MooOOooom it's so unfair!"
