A Civic Rant

I am so tired of people who use a common living space as their personal trash can. Certain people around my apartment complex forget that everyone shares this space, these parking lots and these walking areas. Just because you have the right to use them does not mean that they are exclusive to you and your needs. You can’t just throw cups or litter or, for the love of everything, used tampons about as if it’s not going to offend the other people who have the right to enjoy the space.

That is one reason I am going to be happy to leave this apartment complex. No more having to deal with the increasing number of rude, disgusting tenants. What sort of people leave a used tampon in the parking lot? If it fell out of your trash bag, fine. But, since it came out of your body, you could stand to pick it up with a tissue so that other people don’t have to walk past it.

Also, fellow neighbors, part of being a responsible pet owner is cleaning up after your pet. I know waste is not a fun thing to pick up and dispose of, but that’s part of what you have to consider when you adopt a pet and choose to let your pet use the bathroom in public spaces. It’s not your yard. It belongs to everyone, therefore everyone has an equal responsibility to care for it.

In short: I am never going to walk into your yard or our shared yard and drop my trash for you to deal with. So, please don’t do that to me.
