MY COPY OF PROJECT DIVA 2ND SHIPPED OUT TODAY. /SCREAMS. I AM SO EXCITE. /stalks mail. >>!
I've only been anticipating this game since, oh, I don't know, December. Given the track record of EMS and my area I should have it on Thursday. I'll stalk the package anyway though. It's like a right of passage for any package with a tracking number that comes my way. I'm a super impatient person, so I'll check the whereabouts of a package once or twice a day and get all excited as it gets closer to my location. I like to call this "obessive package stalking syndrome." It's such a sad thing to suffer from. haha.
Gaming wise, I've been playing more Project Diva to get myself used to it again for when 2nd arrives. I've also been playing SO4 on Universe to unlock Chaos so I can get trophies. I'm not going to try to platinum the game, but I would like to get what trophies are reasonable. Clearing the game on Universe and Chaos difficulty is totally doable.
Since I'm at Baroque Dark on Universe I'll be able to start a Chaos playthrough soon. Who knows, maybe I'll even remember to buy an Eldar Bow for a shop request in Triom this time! I kicked myself for forgetting that this time around. I knew I had to do it and I forgot anyway. The prospect of going through the Caldianon Mothership and Purge Temple yet again makes me want to die a bit though. I hate those places.
And just so everyone knows, I actually have to play through this game with Japanese text (Japanese voices is obviously a must) just so I can even read the text on my tv. This'll explain why I'm not using the localization names when talking about it. The English text is so small I can't read anything. D:< It's like they expect me to have a 50+ inch HDTV while playing this shit.
I've also been replaying P3P a bit as well. However, considering I've played through it 3+ times since December I'm getting kind of burned out with it. The only reason I really started playing it again was because a friend started playing FES and my instant reaction was, "GOTTA PLAY P3P." D:
Outside of that, I've either been sleeping or watching dramas. Well, more or less Natsu no Koi wa Nijiiro ni Kagayaku at the moment. I'm not sure if I'll pick up watching another summer 2010 drama or not.
I know I said I wasn't going to watch any more stupid romance dramas that Matsujun is in after the pain I endured watching Hana Yori Dango, but I couldn't resist the allure of Natsuniji.
Taiga is seriously Matsujun's self insert character. He gets so excited about explaining CPR during an audition (and later bags on another actor for their fail CPR performance), goes into the bathroom to be all "YEAH! IMMA GET THIS PART" only to hear the producers bag on his performance. :( Poor baby needs a hug.
Taiga's brother (Daiki) omg. He's hitting on this other teacher when Shiori walks into the faculty office and he's like "THIS CONVERSATION NEVER HAPPENED." and goes all lovesick schoolgirl over Shiori, who is a single mother and the love interest in this drama. Oh yess~
Meanwhile, Taiga is whining at Ueno over his failed attempts to woo Shiori (he tried to kiss her. She punched him in the face). He reasons that since she has a kid she must be married and therefore he's lost before he even really tried.
Taiga: I wonder what kind of person her husband is...
Ueno: So you haven't given up on her?
Taiga: YES I HAVE.
NO YOU HAVEN'T, TAIGA. IT'S ONLY EPISODE 2. Needless to say, love triangle! I am going to enjoy this.
I love the Kusunoki's housekeeper. She's cleaning up around the house and finds something she thinks is evidence of infidelity so she tries to hide it from Machiko. Of course Machiko finds out and is like, "Pshawwww, Kotaro wasn't that type of person!" OR WAS HE?
Shiori walks home with Umi and thinks that Taiga is stalking her ("But I live this way!") so she makes him go fix her TV/VCR. Taiga complains about her apartment (it's not as glamorous as his house!) which leads to a "You don't know where I come from/what I've been through so you can't relate to me!" argument from both.
I find it really tragic that everyone compares Taiga to his father, but on the other hand it's a good thing because it allows for character development. It's only episode two and already Taiga is really driven to better himself so he's seen and liked more for who he actually is instead of constantly being in the shadow of his late father. I found it really sad that Umi said that she liked his dad, but she hated him. :(
Anyway, Taiga goes out and buys books to improve his speech (as well as going out and finding affordable/cheap grocery stores as a kind gesture towards Shiori. I found this adorable) and starts practicing in his room. About this time his mother comes running in asking him if he's okay because she heard this terrible voice. Right after this their housekeeper comes running in with a rake. I laughed so hard.
When Taiga first walks into the office the next day he notices that Shiori doesn't cross her chopsticks when she eats. She is his ideal woman omg. I love how he dumped his old girlfriend because she crossed her chopsticks when she ate. You know, gotta keep up with his perfectionist standards.
And then that night, Daiki comes home and announces to Taiga and their mother that he found a girl he likes (Shiori) and is totally going to marry her. He's basically saying, "I haven't even asked her out yet, but I might get married!" Oh Daiki, you are so far ahead of yourself.
I love the part of the episode where Shiori brings Umi to work and they make Taiga watch her (he's the only one with nothing to do!). At first he can't relate to her at all, but he finds some sort of common ground with her since they both aren't very good at making friends (she's a quiet/shy girl while he was basically outcast because he was a "rich kid"). Of course, this doesn't really get her to talk to him, but they start doing tongue twisters (Taiga bought a book of them) and become fast friends. xD
The part where Taiga goes to return Umi's schoolbook to her (it got mixed up the day before) also made me like his character more. Loved the part where he finally got to her classroom and ended up in a charade conversation with his brother (he teaches the class) who was so confused as to why he was even there. I love these siblings to bits!
While the siblings are having an enlightening conversation ("Why are you here?!" "Why are you teaching this class?!") another student asks Umi if Taiga's her dad. She replies that he's actually her friend and then Daiki is like, "F-f-f-f-f-friend? Wha--- You and Umi are friends? WHAT." It just gets more awkward from here. With Daiki on top of the school building with binoculars and a telescope, practically stalking Shiori, Umi, and Taiga as they leave and he's like "TAIGA IS MY RIVALLLLL?!?!" I just...roflmao. Fight the good fight, Daiki.
Meanwhile Michiko is going through the things the housekeeper was trying to keep form her. She's still thinking "Kotaro wasn't that type of person!"
....and then she finds a picture of Shiori and Umi.
WHAT.
Next episode preview, oh geez. What kind of person was Kotaro? Who's Umi's father? A CONFESSION! Oh, I am so excite. The plot isn't dragging on and I'm getting more excited about the next episode each time! eeeeee!
In other news, I listened to Arashi's new album earlier. It's getting a somewhat lukewarm response from me. It's not bad, but I'm in one of those moods where I want to listen to a certain type of music (catchy, calming, or both atm) and this album isn't fitting into that type well. The songs that do fit into the type of music I want to listen to (Mada Ue wo, Refrain, Troublemaker, Circus, Come back to me, Magical Song, Monster, and kagerô) are good, but the rest is getting a really lukewarm response from me. I should really like Summer Splash!, but I'm not really digging it at the moment... I wonder why.
"What I want to listen to" aside, I like 15/20 songs on the album. That said, it's not a bad album. I just don't see myself listening to it to the sheer extent that I've listened to Time though. Oh geez, Time was on repeat for weeks when it first came out. YES, I DID IT. I COMPARED BOKU NO MITEIRU FUUKEI TO TIME.
