At work today, one of my boys made my fucking year.

So, with the influx of Twilight and Left4Dead spamming their older generation of siblings, my four-year-olds are EXTREMELY vulnerable to the 'I AM AN EPIC UNDEAD THING!!!' in their playing pretend. I've been lenient in most areas, but since June, I've told them "There are no vampires in my classroom, I don't even want to hear the word." And for the most part, they do pretty good. I mean, you're four. You forget the rules sometimes. But it's gotten to the point now that they remind each other "You don't want to say that. Lindsay'll be mad. o_o;;" And they cast furtive looks in my general direction.

Today at lunch, one of my boys was being ridiculous, and promptly announced "I DRINK BLOOD!!!" And I was stacking my chair, but he hadn't mentioned vampires, so I let it slide.

Hot on his heels was boy number 2, who was also cleaning up his things. He looked at boy1 and said "You don't drink blood. Vampires drink blood. And we're not vampires, right Miss Lindsay?" And without waiting for my answer, as he was wandering away, he said: "We HATE vampires, because we're PEOPLE, not vampires. We like people."

Oh, I almost died from overwhelming affection at this child. :) I totally fluffed his hair. Death to vampires! :D

immd, work, death to vampires, kidlets, joy
