Today I feel like a child of the earth.
In my tie-dye, barefoot, and with little regard for what was there (except centipedes, ew!), Uny and I dug around and cleared out three gardens of the five or six (depending on whether we're keeping the far boggy shade one) and a bit of the leaves around the growing-excessively-huger every moment ex-christmas-tree. And then, after two hours of wandering around clipping and yanking and digging and hauling, we decided we were finished with this crap and called it a day.
I made kielbasa. :D
It was a good day. I haven't enjoyed getting ready for the spring this much since I was twelve. I lost a lot of joy in my life in my teenaged years. I was not a bright or sunny girl. Not then, anyway.
I'm glad to have some of the sunshine back in my life. I think a lot of it is working with kids. But another larger part of it is surrounding myself with people I want around me. And I think that's a very important part of developing into a happy, successful (emotionally) person.
<3 In three weeks, our jungle's going to have seventy-two more friends. :) And then some.
I really hope Uny's nasturtiums from LA sprout. That'd be kind of awesome. <3
Off to watch stargate and wait for Abigail to call. We're totally going to fake our way through linedancing tonight. Oh, /and/ I have my period. XD;; Joy! Dancing on legs that only half-work! Wheee! <3
