Flower show tomorrow! :D

... I keep on inheriting weird, half-dead plants from my mother. >_> I dunno. It's kinda weird for me, too. These poor plants.

In other news, I got Uny's birthday present all planned out. :D I have gotten her .... NO PEEKING! SHOO! *SWAT* Go back to your own journal, you! :D She will like it very much. I hope.

I talked to Mom a lot today because we got to her house at roughly the same time. And I made dinner, which I'm quite happy to do, and then while I was doing that, I told her that a comment she'd made the other weekend very much hurt me, and I wanted to tell her that in hopes to get the hurt out of me so I could go back to not being mad every time I went to sew.

And she wanted to know why I'd ever be hurt by anything she said, and I told her that there was a legitimacy she granted to some of my other artistic expressions that she didn't grant to my writing, and she was all taken aback.

Now, back up here a moment. Consider all the rants against my mother wrt my writing we've known over the years. Now, consider all the times I've let things go that people I've known have said about me or regarding me or whatever. ... Now please realize that the things my mother has said to me about my writing is the only amount of grudge I carry at all in anything shy of high-school torment by my peer group.

So, I told her that. I told her that she had said some very hurtful things to me regarding my writing. She'd told me once that she only wanted me to get published because it would make my brother happy. And she admitted to that, and also that it was a really terrible thing to say, and made a new statement right then and there that she hoped I got published, not because it would make Tyler happy or rub Robert's face in the mud or anything like that, but because it would make me happy and it's what I want to do, and because she would just love to see me attain a goal.

<3 It really made me very, very happy. And I think I can finally let some of this weight go.

But grudges are useful for writers in that "I'll show them," capacity. So I might keep some of it. Just not a whole flipping lot. <3
