I am. SO. Happy.
My copy of Henry's Dream by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds came in the mail today. Poor Uny has been subjected to it three times now - once in its entirety, twice in me picking songs we needed JUST THEN OMG. I'm saddened that it's such a short album - we were done listening to it by the time we were in Limerick, but it's soooooo wonderful. Not the angry, wall-of-sound that he's gone back to. Much more rolling, kind of very empty. Granted, instead of his usual 144billion men playing along with him, this was back in the 92 era when he just had those five very useful seeds.
The song that sold me on this album - y'know because I buy my music by cover art and think Henry's Dream is absurd in a bad way - was hearing "Papa Won't Leave You Henry" played live. Oh god, just hearing it in the empty kind of way that it's played on the disc brings back the live version that filled my ears and soared into every inch of me.
I need No More Shall We Part, Murder Ballads, Boatman's Call, and at least one other that I don't know the name to. o__o They are maddeningly, beautifully prolific. And I love it.
