- This, actually, I made as an avatar for a messageboard that unyko runs and I am, in part, moderatrix. Thing is, Unes is not so much the tough-love type, and I am, so I am her Enforcer. :D To demonstrate, I made said avatar requiring the bits and pieces of my Chasing Sunset insert, Rabs, Sacramento's Second and Bait. She's kind of a psych-job and wields gladii. Rabs is the nickname I enjoy most of all out of the absurdity that people have saddled me with. :D silentvixen started calling me Rabs, short for Rabbit, some time ago. I enjoy it greatly. ^^; I use this icon mostly when I'm lazy or depressed. Lazy because it's my default (mostly because Rabs is a vampire hunter, which is what my entire LJ seems themed on lately :D), depressed because the bunny plushie looks very sad, methinks.
- Ah, Sig Hansen, captain of the F/V Northwestern, and loveable sadistic kicked puppy of the tv show Deadliest Catch. He's a prankster by nature, and once tried to convince someone else to take a turn in the wheelhouse so he could sleep. Said person decided to take a shower instead. Sig waited until he got all soaped up, then cut the water. Between cracking up as his victim emerged, covered in soap suds, he turned to the cameras, grinning. "This ain't my first rodeo," he said. Sadly, every picture of him I can find online has this same kicked puppy expression. *SHRUG* XD I use this icon for when the world does not surprise me, and I want to vent my cynicism. *chir* He's such a cute angry man. :D
- all you needed to know about this icon and probably more. :D I use it any time I'm writing something absurdly huge, or just being intentionally absurd. :D
- PRIVATE JOKER! :D *SQUEE!* Private Joker is the MC of Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket. He was named such by his drill instructor because he does John Wayne impersonations and tends to think he's funny. :D After basic, he's a field reporter for Stars and Stripes, the newspaper the army reads. At one point, his CO is doing a briefing about how Ann-Margaret is coming to Vietnam to do a morale-boosting exercise for the troops. Shortly after this announcement, the Tet offensive happens, and the next briefing, Joker's CO is ranting about the VC and all the problem spots they have. Joker turns to him from where he's looking patently BORED OUT OF HIS SKULL and smiles, saying, "Sir, does this mean Ann-Margaret's NOT coming?" He's then assigned to some bumfucknowhere post because he's a smartass. XD I love him greatly. I wear this icon when I'm feeling that resigned surrender to fate that just kills any hope of anticipation I might have had. Or when I feel like being particularly bristly to my superiors. :D
- LEIBOWITZ!!! :D *SQUEE!* This icon's actually pretty old. I used to use it over on the Nowhere Realm boards when I needed to vent my German. :D It's a line from that best of all books, A Canticle for Leibowitz, which translates to "We continue marching when everything falls to pieces." It's in the middle of a huge rant on the progress of the ages, the resurgence of the automobile, everything going and going and going, and no one stopping to look to see just what damage is being done. GUH. LOVE. Reason I reupped it is because I have massive German love and I was venting this at someone and needed the proper box to wear. I wear it whenever I need to vent my German bits, and also any time I feel Progress might be hindering my inner self. Sigh. Also, Leibowitz. *__*
