(no subject)
Happy New Year Everyone! I'm finally back from my interstate trek, one night at Gokhan's turned into "let's drive to Troy and see Texas Will and whoever else is still there from last night." We all had a blast, although I pulled the idiot on the couch move and passed out at 10pm on New Year's Eve :-/ Other than that the whole weekend was really fun. I bought myself a toothbrush on the Pike and got weird looks from old ladies while I was brushing my teeth in the bathroom of the rest area. It was really really good to see Ann and Pinar again, almost makes me wish I hadn't left :( It's comforting to know that you can get totally plastered and pass out with your friends and you don't have to worry about them doing silly things like writing on your face and stuff :P Also, I got to meet Sessa! Which was totally cool, because even though I've talked to him online and stuff, it's really a lot more fun to hang out with him in person, and if you're reading this Sessa, thank you soooooooo much for my new CD :) Being in a car for three and a half hours with someone like Sessa makes the trip way shorter, babbling about Ani songs and other music that we both like. Much thanks to Ryan (who probably will never read this) for driving me down to New Haven to feed the cats, and also for being the poor sap who I dragged outside with me for almost every single cigarette I smoked for two and a half days. I actually was thinking about composing a little "smoker's toast" for new year's eve, and nonsmokers who go out for cigarettes with smokers and nonsmokers who still let you smoke in their cars would definitely be part of it. But of course, I didn't write it, so it doesn't matter :P
Anyway, Saturday night was also cool, we met up with a bunch of house people for dinner, and played silly games like Trivial Pursuit, and drank more. But not much more, because I would have died. I didn't end up getting nearly enough sleep though, and now I'm kind of stuck facing a twelve hour shift tomorrow with not enough sleep again. So I'm going to bed, before I die :)
