The insomnia reached a new high (low?) a couple of days ago when I did a 9-hour work day on 3 hours' sleep. I called in a favour, got the next morning off work, and was asleep by 8 pm. 14 hours' sleep worked wonders.
Didn't reset my brain quite the way I would have liked, but, y'know, progress.
Preparation to move out continues! Currently most of the work is psychological and prepatory - lots of making lists and mental notes to find stuff new homes/throw out (do charity shops even take VHSs any more?). The delivery company didn't deliver the packing boxes so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to actually get stuff going.
The estate agents have said we can move into the new place as of this Friday. The Boyfriend will move his stuff in and I'll move out, with the help of Boyfriend and a rental van, next Wednesday. I'm not sure how I feel about it all yet; it's not feeling real at the moment. I will either be suspiciously okay or I will break down in floods of tears upon passing the 'Welcome To St Andrews' sign on the way past DRA. It'll be one extreme or the other. I mean, the place has been my home for the last half decade, I'm not going to do this thing by halves.
I have to check my shifts for the Job in York and see if I can get access to some of the reading for the course (I may have already sorted out broadband which, boyfriend and I decided, was the 100% most tip-top priority for the new place, more so even than food. Responsibilities, yo.) The thing is, and I know this is completely irrelevant, my biggest worry is my three of my four WIP fanfictions. I've a Cabin Pressure one sitting at 30% completed, a Hobbit one at 10% (that one'll be a whopper) and an SPN one at 80%.
How, my brain is saying in a slightly panicky tone, am I going to find time to finish these? How am I going to finish plotting and actually write them up? Huh? Focus, girl focus, you're losing sight of your priorities!
(I think it's safe to say I've found another way my stress is making itself known.)
I downloaded a special word processing app to my phone that syncs to both my tablet and my laptop, so I have been writing some of this stuff during quiet moments at work. I keep running into the same problem with the CP one, though; I can write Douglas and Martin without too much trouble but Arthur's voice completely eludes me. Anyone got any tips?
