[Action to Rufus]
[Gongaga isn't a big establishment, but Rufus still manages to make himself elusive. Where is that damned boy? The office was empty; maybe he's in the gardens?]
Private/Unhackable
If the source of Sephiroth's power was as simple as JENOVA alone, this would not be so difficult. But, in fact, Sephiroth breaks the boundaries of all that had been known about JENOVA, about the Ancients, about the Lifestream itself.
Should I count this as a credit to myself, that I had created the closest approximation to a God on this planet, or should I consider it a failing that I hadn't anticipated the full range of his capabilities?
I do have my moments of doubt... Sephiroth is such a perfect specimen; I'd like to see what he is capable of, roaming as he does, left to his own devices. But after these few years he seems to have exhausted all his options. He requires guidance.
Death does not concern me, and the destruction Sephiroth is causing hardly weighs on my conscience. I am not helping these deluded fools contain my son because I am afraid he'll bring the world to ruin again. No... I am going to remind him of his roots, force him to acknowledge my value, make him see that I can help him achieve more than he ever could dream, if he would only let me.

Sephiroth was treated with J-Virus during gestation, leading to immune tolerance and lifetime infection. JENOVA is in his very genome, hence the injection must target the genes affected and not merely aim to kill affected cells. The latter would lead to death of the host, which is hardly useful.
This substance from the Lifestream needs to be further purified. But analysis shows the undeniable presence of the Ancients and I wonder if this is how...they managed to secure JENOVA in that geological stratum in the first place...?
Still battling their planet's ailments, even from the grave. What a formidable race of people indeed.

Grimoire Valentine's papers are invaluable in understanding the Lifestream and its connections to the physical plane. Stagnated Lifestream may not have had the effects we initially intended, but with the pool of souls so agitated it does no harm to try those experiments again.
A body consisting of flesh and blood can dissipate into pure Lifestream in a manner of minutes if treated correctly (I understand that this is why we never found old Grim's corpse), so why not the reverse?
Amaya... What parents wouldn't do for their children...
But then again... aren't I the very same?
