An effort to gather my thoughts-

After death,

The body decomposes (fresh --> putrefication --> black putrefication --> butyric fermentation --> skeletonisation... Crushing by the fallen Sister Ray and the acid rain would have greatly accelerated the process.)

The soul disintegrates and returns to the Lifestream. No definable stages, no observable time scale (due to it being impossible to collect a spirit from its corpse and measure time taken to lose individuality).

It is known the disintegration process can take abnormally long in certain cases - where consciousness has been lost but enough of the soul remains to puppet the carcass in a 'zombie-like' state. The length of time taken for the soul to escape the body seems to be genetically determined, and certainly some tribes, most noticeably in the central Cosmo Canyon district, boast more cases of the 'Dancing Dead' - as they call it - than people of other regions.

However. In this case, not only has the soul regrouped and reformed (a clear breach of physical laws), the body has also been regenerated. A previously unheard of phenomenon. Not only this, there seems to be no immediate correlation between location of death and location of revival.

I have lost all my resources and research notes, so am complete and utterly in the dark on this. I need to study this situation further...!
