holding a proper sort of phone conversation while your crying cat is relentlessly trying to separate the flesh of your right arm from the rest of your body is even more difficult than it sounds, the randomized pain and light bleeding making it impossible to pay close attention to either one's beloved or one's homicial kitten. and yet, now that both interactions have come to an awkward and abrupt close, the stillness is most terrible and i, not surprisingly, am somewhat vexed.
