today's just been one of those days. my 200 something dollar phone was lost or stolen--either way, i had it last night, and i don't now. i had a bad feeling even last night coming back from the theater, but i thought it was just the after-effects of the cop that caught someone speeding behind me while i was speeding myself, too. one speeding ticket is enough for my financial comfort.
meanwhile, the news is troubling me more than it should. with todays bad news, my positivity is getting thin. is it too much to ask to be distracted from life itself? why can't it all be black and white, or unimportant? that would work so much better.
this is the kind of news i need right about now. the worlds largest swine shot in eastern alabama. 480 kg, 2.8 m. i'm right about 60 kg. you know hogs are the most dangerous animals to hit with a car? because they're so low and solid, the car can't do anything but flip. physics sucks balls, doesn't it?
POTC III was overly complicated, but i enjoyed it very much. it's a good movie, just for fun, explosions and what not--so long as you just don't take it very seriously. as jason said, it's a lot of jack v. world, and world v. anything to get to jack. and i don't mean jack the monkey. way too many special effects (though die harderererer is going to give it a run for its money, apparently), way too much jack flying around in the air. and shrek III was ... well, it was. it was pretty funny, but ... i don't know. by my standards, it's a good movie, because it made me laugh, but i'm not paying for it again. and i'm getting my money back from dad for seeing the movie, too, because i took sammy, so that might be a reason i don't feel too cheated. i spent too much time wondering if artie was justin timberlake (yes he was), and if merlin was eric idle (yes he was). (i feel pretty good about that, i'm usually awful at placing voices. i didn't get kingdom of heaven's edward norton! which is pathetic.)
