Thursday was an awesome day. With the interview news, and getting the house to myself (not that I don't love having my grandparents around, I do miss them). So Thursday night, my mijo called, and actually made it over to my house. He was so sweet, and awesome. I wish he lived closer, so I could see him more often. Such is my life I guess.
Saturday, I went to dinner at a great restaurant, Fabiola's on Vine and something something. Yum! I had spinach and ricotta ravioli, with a parmesan cream sauce, and a good Italian Pinot Grigio. Then, we went to see Les Miserables. Amazing!!! I love that musical. I always tear up at the end, and when Eponine dies. Such an amazing story even without the music, but the music is great.
Sunday... sleep, sleep, and run around like a chicken with my head cut-off. Too much to do.
Today... Went to hell in a hand-basket. A week ago, I promised our alternative ed. that I would take his class while he was at inservice days. The class consists of 20 delinquents, and there is supposed to be an aid in the classroom. She told me she would be there when I subbed this class. On Friday - she called in sick. Ok, fine, there were only 8 students. Not a problem. I get in to work today, and she's called in sick again. WTF??? Her sister had a child so she took off work. WTF? Bullshit. I had 14 deliquents today. I was ready to strangle half of them by the end of the day. UGH! If I could've axed 6 of them... it would've been alright. And one of the VP's cut my legs off 10 mins. into the day. I had 2 students refuse to come class, and as I was writing the referrals, they walked into class, and I had called for security, one of the VP's walked into class, and I explained what had happened. That I had seen them playing around at the end of the hall, and they had refused my instructions to come to class. He said, well if they do anything else today send them up, this is their warning. WARNING??? Excuse me... warning??? No wonder these students don't give a shit when an adult gives a directive. So the rest of the day was downhill.
Then of course the interview. I really don't want to comment on it. I can't come up with terms on demand. I felt like an idiot sitting there. It was sad. And she said she had 5 more. Ouch... Oh well. I have a job next year. I'm good. Seriously, I was really depressed and sooo ready to cry after the interview, but a 5 hour nap and 2 glasses of wine later....
The Daily Show is so much funnier when you're tipsy. I mean its funny in general, and I love Jon Stewart, but have a couple of glasses of wine, and it just doesn't get any better than this. Freaking awesome.
One more day of delinquents - god willing there will be less than 10 of them, and the aide will decide to fucking show up!
And for those who care - Go Miami Heat! and Angels (though they aren't doing too hot).
