apparently everyone interpreted my walkout fliers with the "Come to A-8 for your armbands!" meant that to get out of class you needed an armband. which meant a lot of those people at lunch were just looking to get out of class. after the walkout, it felt like a big gigantic failure. nobody could hear the video. it was really just me yelling desperately into the mike.
but in retrospect:
we did get 500-700 people. there's something in that.
we got free advertisement for our club.
the people who want the information know how to get it.
there were no fights (the biggest plus according to bedford).
and most importantly: by protesting, we got people to talk about this war and maybe start to digest the situation and go a little below face value. if we can keep that sort of discussion going, it doesnt matter what side people take. well it does, but y'know.....
on an unrelated note: i hope brit's not lying.
and
come to mr. gaithersburg. if not for the contestants, for the stars with their names on them.
