Whoever thought to close Beacon St for the marathon needs to be hung by their toes for a while. I had trouble getting across the street after getting off at the St. Mary's T stop because the marathon was there and police had blockaded everything and people were making it impossible to get by. Fortunately, the police allowed pedestrians who just wanted to get home (like me) to duck under the "Police Line Do Not Cross" tape during lulls between runners so I eventually got across. It was a bit of a pain though. And now I'm sitting in a hot room listening to a lot of screaming lunatics outside. *Sigh*. On the plus side, my boss let me go home at 2 today because I was finished with my work early!
