Last SYTYCD review of the season :(
Ok, making this very quick, because it's hard to type and call in at the same time.
First off, WTF NIGEL?! That fox dance was incredible. I can't believe you didn't like it. I totally got it. I thought it was really well done and showed off their dancing really well. I don't know what the judges problem was. I also though Sabra stayed in character really well throughout, and Lacey didn't. She had her moments, but Sabra was consistent throughout. It was her best dance of the night IMO.
Sabra was very off tonight. And I think that's why Nigel said "don't just judge on tonight." I think he's totally plugging for her. Saying "a girl should win" and all that. Which is a shame, becaus really, Danny should win. But Sabra is incredible. This was just a bad time to have an off week. I disagreed with the judges a lot tonight. I thought that the lindy hop was really bad, but I also thought the cha-cha was bad, so I'm not being biased.
I think the best dances of the night were the two same sex dances. And I'm sorry, but Danny and Neil's dance totally reminded me of Twilight. It was Edward and Jacob going at it. But that's okay, because Kameron and Lacey's contemporary that first week was definitely Steve and Wanda. And Dominic and Sabra's contemporary was Obi-Wan and Siri. So it's not the first time I've done that. Just the first time I've mentioned it.
Random note: STOP GIVING ME BUSY SIGNALS, I DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO TYPE!
I loved how Nigel just tore Lacey apart in the beginning. He broke her down, then said wonderful things about everyone else. Was that fair? No. Did I like it? Hells yeah! But I will give Lacey credit, she has come far. But not far enough. She's still a ham. And so is Neil. They have grown, but not enough. That being said, they did really well tonight.
But this night was Danny's night. There is NOTHING that boy cannot do. Did you see his solo?! Stupendous. And I don't even know if I spelled that right. I don't think a solo has ever gotten a standing ovation before. Especially from the judges. Very impressive. Danny is the most talented dancer I have ever seen in my life. And he really doesn't need this competition to succeed. Mia's right, he will go down in history as the next incredible dancer. I can't wait to see him live. I may come home with no jaw. Cause I'll have dropped it.
Based on just tonight, Danny should win hands down. But it's not based on just tonight, so it's anybody's game really. Except Neil's. I don't see even the slightest chance of him winning, sorry.
