I could go on a rampage complaining about my horrible family and the things they said to me last night, but if I do, I'll get all worked up, and I don't need to do that again.
Simply put, I don't give a damn what my uncles or cousins think of me, but I am pissed off that they are spreading rumors about me to my grandparents. And even then, really only my grandmother, one of the few people that I care about in that side of the family because she got trapped there and couldn't get back out. And she's too naive to not believe what she's told.
So anyway, what I do want to do is talk about the movie Waitress.
I saw it because it had Nathan Fillion in it, and I adore him. But I wound up falling in love with it and seeing it twice. It's about a woman working as a waitress (surprise) who finds out she's pregnant by her jerk of a husband. She starts hiding money from him so that she can leave him and run away. Her dream is to open her own pie shop. She meets her new doctor (Nathan Fillion) and they eventually start an affair. Around all this is also the story of her two co-workers, Becky and Dawn, who are the humor of the movie. And they are funny.
Dawn is played by the writer and director of the movie, Adrienne Shelley. On November 1, 2006, in post production of the movie, she was murdered and then hung in her shower to make it look like a suicide. She left behind a husband and a 3 year old daughter.
Her writing and direction was really incredible, and the movie was so much better for it. Because honestly, the plot kinda skeeves me out. But like I said, I love this movie. So today, Adrienne Shelley's birthday, I encourage everyone on my flist to go out and see this movie. I promise you won't regret it. And you'll probably want to eat some pie.
