(no subject)
An alumna from Simmons sent me a letter, and enclosed she had an article from the Boston Globe about Women's Colleges.
It was REALLY interesting. If you want to read the whole article, google "yes to women's colleges" and click on the Boston Globe site.
The last paragraph was what really caught my eye and made me go WHOA, pretty much:
" I recently sat in on an advanced organic chemistry class where the professor asked for volunteers to demonstrate molecular resonance by moving to different types of music. I wistfully said to the young student next to me, ``I wish I could go down there and dance. But that's probably not a good idea, since I am supposed to be observing." With no hesitation, she said: ``This is a women's college. We can do anything we want." "
Very cool. Making me completely reconsider my feelings about Simmons. =]
So, I need a social issue for sociology class on friday. A friend of mine suggested sex among teens. Or underage drinking. So i might pick one of those.
And also for friday, i need to have something for show&tell in spanish, so i might bring in my explo lanyard...with cynthia's ID in it...lol<3
