i rediscovered the fact that i like techno. Or industrial rock. Or a mix between rock and techno. Whatever category the Nine Inch Nails fall in. Some of the remixes are a lot better than the originals, altho Nine Inch Nails is a great band already. Haven't explored this area of music in a while hehe.
Formal education is a lie. They give you a shitty prescribed education only for you to end up with a shitty desk job. In truth we're only in school for a damn diploma. If we really wanted to learn anything, we could do it ourselves. We wouldn't have this bullshit flowchart and these vague course outlines that are barely even followed. We'd take specific courses geared towards our intended specializations. Formal education is so shallow. The sad truth is it's what everyone gets judged by now. You can take up an apprenticeship at a CNC machining center or build your own electronics devices from scratch using knowledge you learned yourself from a damn book and people won't fucking recognize you. The stupid thing is that people that really know a thing or two are constrained by the fact that they may or may not have the grades to show for it. Bullshit.
i dunno. i can truly say i know a thing or two, way more than a lot of people whose grades are higher than mine. A lot of practical knowledge. i don't claim to be an expert and i'd be an idiot to do so where i am now but i can actually go somewhere with what i can do. Much of what i can do now is from my own work and merit but as much of a loner as i am, some really good people helped me along the way. What makes them good is the fact that i didn't even ask for help - we just started a conversation and the person decided to help me out. Of course this is shallow knowledge - airsoft gunsmithing. The base skills however are really technical so whatever. This is just one example tho.
i could've been a gunsmith for this bigtime arms company in the Philippines. i can't say who they are though but yeah. Why? Coz i was actually kinda good with the CNC machine and the other machines in the labs, compared to my other blockmates. In fact i seem to fare better with machinery than them, for some reason. i hated the CNC machine for a while tho coz it gave me so much shit at the start. But still. They just blasted through the courses haphazardly. So i only know the bare basics of how to use robotic arms and such.
i lost the angry train of thought but you get the idea. i could be a good gunsmith, given the training but circumstances constrain me. Instead, they're training us to be fucking employees. Bullshit. i could've been good with real robots too but no. So i kinda have a couple of last shots at getting somewhere. Or at least being able to NOT get a desk job (or be an employee for that matter) and still make money. i think i'll try to make good on these.
Elitism. People think it's bad. i used to think it was. But elitism weeds out the idiots. i really realized this when i was invited to this elitist airsoft group. How elitist are they? They don't play with regular players. They literally take turns on the field: regular players, then them, then regular players again, then them, and so on. They also don't allow just anyone to join them - and those that do can't just use any type of gun. They have to be gas blowbacks. People usually regard elitists as snobs. This is true, unless you have the right to be. This team does. Their matches average about 3 minutes long. That's how fast the eliminate each other. i heard that playing against regular players, they still win. Why? Regular players use electric rifles, which can hold 300 shots per mag and fire at thousands of rounds per minute. Gas guns have only two digit ammo capacities - even the rifles. And this team uses only pistols. They also have really strict and enforced rules and regulations for themselves. Elitism helps enforce these, as well as keeps their team in great tactical shape as, like i said earlier, they don't allow just any shithead to join.
