last night i had a great dream.

i had one a few nights ago too.

they make me feel good again.

like my mind does have a universe of depth,
and i'm not just a face on the subway.

what makes it okay that the guy next door is smarter than we?
or that we couldn't cut it as cheerleader captain?

what do we have left?

well, it reminds me of my singing teacher in high school. she would instruct us, when you have to hit that high note, in your mind, think that you are coming down the scale when you hit it, instead of reaching all the way up.

its a perception thing. where as - in this culture - we are all taught to reach for things, to better, to compete, to strive, (ha ha) to complain (because our expectations weren't met?).... the healthy thing, the goddam MEDITTERANEAN thing (if anyone read my last post) is to relax, to meet goals, etc., but let it be natural. after your best effort, as you relax and enjoy the benefit of your work, easily fall into that pride that comes with another day, another accomplishment, another joy. and you will experience that pride without the obnoxious strain to your body and spirit.

i look at things the wrong way. there IS an inner universe, and mine is valid. everybody has this immeasurable depth.

but we all settle to battle over "terf". this stupid stuff. we steal time and energy from spending time in the inner world just to fight over scraps in this big dirty one.
i think the world is a wonderful place.
by this big dirty one, i think i mean MEDIA.

Linzie, geninfilth, is SO CRAZY about community living. so i take her props into consideration when - insidethe universe- i try to figure out what i think about this matter.
and the community I'm talking about is not a matter of people coming together, but people forcing eachother apart from a close or far proximity... but somehow considering themselves on the same plain.
