It took about an hour to get to upton park, when me and a friend finaly got there, we found out that our seats were just to the left of the goal. not that this means anything to anyone but we sat in J 87/88.
We had the best view, as soon as they we sat down, the players came out and warmed up. the Southend players were up our end and were kicking the ball in to the net, most of them missed and went in to the crowd. Most of them were near us, one could of hit me. I have come to the conclusion that all the Southend Players are think ,as they dont know there squad numbers.
After fifteen minutes later they called out the teams (see above) and the game kicked off, West Ham were shooting our way with in seconds of the start there was an attack, Reo-Coker(WH) was so close, but the ball was saved, by the Southend Keeper, who incerdently was wearing a West Ham Kit, but with his name and number on.
Another few minutes went and Broughton(S) headered a Maher(S) cross just past the post, thought i was sitting in the away supporters end though i actully support West Ham. Southend for then attacking again, but this time incepted a pass and caught them on a counter attack.
Following a storming 50-yard run from Nigel Reo-Coker(WH), pass to Harewood(WH).
GOAL(WH) Harewood eleven Minutes. 1-0 West Ham
The Finish was fantastic, i was very happy, but could celebrate as i would piss off the Southend Supporters, and quite possibley beaten up,by a huge mob. So i celebrated to myself.
As the first half went on, West ham had more attacks, but Southend was strong and defended very well, Half time came, the Southend Supporters was ok, as it was only one zero.
Half Time was good , every time West Ham play at home at Half time, The Hammeretts Come on and do a dance act for a while.
Second Half Started and the teams swaped ends. Right from the start Southend were on the attack, they so how were stronger and made the West Ham Keeper pull put some good saves.
Come about sixty five minutes Southend had the best chance of the Match to equalise, a twelve yard shot from Broughton(S) made Walker(WH) pull a good save, thought it actully hit the post, but Southend got a couner, and yet again came an inch from equalising. chance gone.
Walker(WH) Goal kick, the Supporters were shouting out "ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo , Your Shit, Ahhhhh" to put him off never put him off though, moments later A Southend Sub Bramble(S) for Broughton(S), and a mistake by Walker(WH) and Bramble(S) could of scored, but luckly for me, he missed.
Now there was a West Ham Sub, Sheringham(WH) for Rebrov(WH). Now the Southend supports were really irrate and they had another chant going " Oh Teddy, Teddy, You may have Won the Treble, but your Still a Cunt"
Come the near the end of the match, Southend on a brake, but got a caught on the counter Bang!!!
Goal Harewood(WH)2-0 Niney Two Minites and the Winner for the match. and the final Whistle when West Ham Win, I was Extreamly happy, Next round of the Carling Cup here we come. Whoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
