You know what will make me guaranteed to not read a fic? When even the summary is littered with grammatical errors. How can I expect your story to be readable when the summary isn't? Seriously, people. *sigh*

Had a somewhat rough weekend. My boss has been sick and on Saturday the bug hit me. Summer colds suck. On top of that, I had some SAR training on Sunday that I just couldn't stand to miss. So I went even though I have this cold. Probably not my smartest move. We were training on self-arrest on snow-covered slopes, so imagine flinging yourself down a mountain (headfirst, on your back) while not feeling well. Yeah. I've been nursing this on-again, off-again back injury since mid-June that I seriously aggravated by doing this. Got home and could barely move for a while. I'm doing okay, still a bit tweaked but nothing a little Tylenol and rest won't fix. I hope.

Now back to work. Boss is here today so I'm feeling much more motivated. Imagine that. ;-)

Slope is about 30 degrees. We also hiked up a bit higher for a steeper angle once we got the technique down. I was actually the first in the group to slide down. By accident. Another guy was going to demonstrate while we sat and watched but then I lost my footing and took off. Oops. It was a total blast though. I told our training director that I want to jump into crevasses next year after watching a video of European rescue group doing some belay training. Talk about a rush. I'll have to find that link and post it later.
