I get to deliver eviction papers today. Aren't you jealous? *sigh* We've been "managing" three properties since our friends R&E moved back east in April. R&E own a condo and a house. No problems with either of the. But R used to manage a condo for his friend C and we took that over when R moved. The two guys living there have yet to pay the rent on time. And they've only paid half of August and none of Sept, so now I get to drop off the papers. I've talked to them on the phone and in person, I've dropped off late notices, etc. Now they aren't paying and they aren't answering my phone calls. So annoying. Once they're out, I'll get the joy of getting the place re-rented. More ugh there.

Our owner was supposed to open the store today. He's usually up at the other store, so our usual 2nd in command who handles the scheduling asked me to come in at 7 just in case T forgot. T forgot. He didn't come in until we called to tell him the roof is leaking in the paint department. It's been steady raining since yesterday evening. The leak isn't too bad, but with the constant rain (which we don't get too often), we've had to put out a couple buckets.

Not only did I open the store but I also ended up being the person to receive today's warehouse delivery. I don't normally have anything to do with the truck after cutting my finger that first week. *g* But I rocked it out. Thanks to my awesome forklift driver/guy Friday, we had everything not only unloaded from the truck, but sorted and ready for dept. heads to put away before 9am. I rule!! I almost wished that the bosses had been here to witness how awesome I was.

Another week with no recs. I was up late last night finishing an editing project. Another book that baffled me in the whole "people want to read this?" way. I guess I just don't get the appeal of fantasy-romance. Mostly, I don't get the appeal of fantasy novels period. The erotica doesn't help for me, it just makes it more bizarre. *shrug* To each her own, I guess. People obviously like this stuff or it wouldn't keep getting published.

I've been in the store at 7am 4 days this week. I cannot wait to sleep in tomorrow. Of course, sleeping in means maybe 7:30 if Buddy is left outside late tonight and gives us a little time in the morning before the first potty trip.

Tomorrow night we're going to see Santana!! I'm very excited. I got tix for us and our neighbors. Just lawn seats because they were cheap as a 4-pack. But live music! Live Carlos Santana! Whoo!

Okay, back to work. I must check in a boatload more toys. Our toy section is amazing this year. We've got some kick ass transformers, Hulk, and Batman action figures. The dolls are scary (perhaps my only phobia -- baby dolls *shudder* -- it's like they have a soul and they're looking at you all "hold me to your breast and let me suck the life out of you"). I have issues with dolls. We have a Barbi that I named "Aryan Barbi" because she's in the box with one arm raised up like a Nazi. It's almost as creepy as the baby dolls. But we have Easy Bake Ovens! And some really cool Tonka trucks. And finger puppets with a finger puppet theater set. And tons of games. Parents can actually shop for xmas stuff in the county! It's a miracle. We're slowly becoming a Mini-Me Target. *g*
