That's the job I want! All the sites I've seen give copies of finished books to proofreaders in lieu of actual cold hard cash. Why would I want a final version of a book I've already read??? I don't get it!

I don't normally get paid to proof. This was special circumstances of short on proofers, we'll pay editors (less than for editing) because it has to get done.

I don't know. I mean, I totally understand writing canon pairings and all, but I feel like OTH is all Nathan/Haley and Haley annoys the crap out of me, so I'm not really big on reading her.

I did see that there was a crossover request there with Gossip Girl, and I just want to say that I would be willing to take that request if you need me to.

On one hand, I love the fact that there will be a shitload of NH stories because I'm kinda insane about them (all due to one Mr. Lafferty. Haley annoys me quite frequently, esp. this past season), BUT there really needs to be more representation of other pairings, especially UC. Where's the Rachel/Brooke in fandom? The Peyton/Brooke/Haley? Nathan/Brooke? Deb/Karen? And so on and so forth. Hell, even Lucas/Peyton or Lucas/Brooke hasn't been requested.

I knew the NH overload would be an issue because (a) it is probably the most widely written pairing in the fandom and (b) my OTH flisters are generally NH shippers. I've tried pimping at other OTH comms, but so far, nada. I'm hoping the recent post at othnewsletter will spur some non-NH interest.

Yeah, I saw the newsletter posting. I hope that helps. I'm also hoping the couple of people on my list will sign up. We shall see. One is on vacation right now, but I'm going to e-mail her.
