Book review(ish) -- Eragon
I just finished reading Eragon, which I had started at the beach. Wow. So very, very good. I rented the movie a few months ago and enjoyed it enough that I decided to buy the book. Took it with me to the Carolinas and had expected to finish it there. I didn't quite manage that, but I between the drive to and from Silverthorne yesterday afternoon and an hour this afternoon I am done. I'm very happy that I made a trip to Borders yesterday to pick up the sequel as I'm pretty much ready to dive in right now. Too bad the third book isn't out yet.
I'm already having fic ideas, but I want to read book 2 first. And then I will probably seek out some fan fic, because there's definitely fic potential here. *g*
For anyone who saw the movie but was not impressed, I will say that there's so much more in the book. Things are clearer, the timeline is longer than it appears in the movie, and a lot more of what's going on behind the scenes is explained. I highly recommend this if you like fantasy novels.
