John wakes up straight. And that sounds like it'd be crackfic, but it's actually not so much crack as it is an interesting look at life in the closet and the what the body wants vs. what the mind wants. Really lovely story.

This starts with John as a teenager. A really intersting and believable backstory for his sexual awakening and life as a gay man in the military.
The Slow Braille of Touch by beadattitude

Rodney didn't have the best childhood and the team notices. John's approach to Rodney in this is just lovely. The pace is slow in that perfect way and the resolution is really nice.
Scenes from a Lesser War by amireal

What happens when "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy is changed. There are some funny moments in this, but overall it's a very serious story. I love the story telling here two -- the sections shift back and forth between a past story and a present story coming together at the end to tell everything gorgeously.

Eight years after John goes missing, there are children all over Atlantis. They all look like John. This story kind of gave me the creeps, in the same way that Rodney gets the creeps from all the kids. I don't want to give too much away, but we have parent!Rodney whom I always adore.

John's been through a rough time. This splices sessions with Heightmeyer and John's semi-return to life on Atlantis. It's notable that he's NOT spending time with the physicists.
