Fic: Two Ways Lorne Could Have Been Reunited with Angel (Lorne, Faith, Lilah)

Feb 02, 2006 13:06

So way back in September, I offered silvertedy fic for her birthday. And she asked me to write her something with Lorne and Faith, post-Angel S5. I stand by my statement that I can write anything, but this? Was an incredible challenge. I've been poking around with ideas for months. And finally have something. This was supposed to be longer. I had envisioned ( Read more... )

So good! SO good!! SO GOOD!!! This is an angle that I never, ever expected and completely love. And, I don't care what anybody says (or what his orientation is), Lorne is a sucker for a strong, sexy lady. And here he had two who were able to perfectly mix subtlety and sexuality w/outright violence to get what they need/want.

And the resignation that comes through from Lorne in both pieces. Like he expected to be found and brought back into the whole mess all along, so he didn't really even try to get away, physically or emotionally. A kind of glutton for punishment?

Thank you and many, many smooches. This one's going straight into my memories.

I'm glad you liked. I started with Faith, of course, and got this opener idea done and then realized that I didn't really want to tell what happened next. It kinda didn't matter to me what came next. But I wondered about what if he ran into others. And then I wrote Lilah. But then when trying to do other characters I just couldn't pull together anything new and I worried about making the piece weak by trying to force it. So I gave up and went with what I had. I'm happy that it worked for you.

The Lilah part is actually something I've wondered about for post-Angel fic. The whole idea that if she's still working for them, wouldn't everyone else be connected too? Angel, Gunn, Lindsey, Wesley? Whether they're dead or alive? Because they brought some destruction to the LA office and they may have damaged the Black Thorn group, but I don't buy that they brought down the entire company.

Anyway... something to explore in other fic at some point. Maybe. :)

Absolutely!!

I never even thought of Lilah, but yeah, she's so perfect here. Of course, given that it's Lilah, she's damned near perfect anywhere.

I'm still annoyed that they didn't get Stephanie Romanov back for S5. She was so awesome and Lilah was just a great character.

Here via su_herald. I loved both of those, but especially the second. Poor Lorne.

Oh, the second one was great! The first one I liked too. I could definitely see Faith showing up and somehow getting Lorne to talk.

But the second, that's so W&H's and Lilah's style, that it felt really possible as an after-canon development. Cool.

Thank you, ma'am. *g* Glad the W&H style came through for you and that it seemed possible.

Found this at su_herald. Glad I decided to read. Wonderful pieces. You don't see much Lorne stuff, even Post-NFA. These were wonderful, able to capture him in few words. Loved Lilah's intervention. Very sneaky and it really got across the desperation/exhaustion in Lorne. Great job.

Yes, yes, yes. I adore them both, but falling in line here and telling you that the the Lilah piece is really wonderful. So very her, great voices absolutely. And I love how you have expanded on the contracts.

I miss both Faith and Lilah and seeing them be very them in this scenario is, well, cool. ;)
