help - practical joke needed

Dec 19, 2005 14:44

Hey guys, I need some help with a fic I'm writing. I'm looking for some clever practical joke ideas. I'm at a complete loss right now -- my mind is blank. Help a girl out? If I use your joke in my fic, I'll credit you. :)

Context would definitely be helpful, as well as the level of cruelty. (Young boys are really really mean to each other, and as I was unquestionably one of the guys I was no exception.) For a few years, I was the detail boy to my bff's idea boy. Camp was definitely good: breaking into people's cabins and resettling all the alarm clocks, using honey to cox ants into people's beds, stealing everyone's clothes and towels while they were in the shower and then throwing in a stink bomb, the good old standby of hand-in-warm-water and the like. Good times.

In early high school one of the better ones was freezing foam shaving cream, pealing the shell off and then leaving several of these in someone's car. Which needless to say made quite an impression.

For our senior high school prank we made copies to the school locks, got the combination to the alarm, marked out the motion detectors and re-wired the intercom system to play music as controlled by one of my pal's remotes. And never got caught. It was fabulous.

But yeah, give me a context and I will see if I can come up with anything.

Wow. Quite the precocious child, huh? ;-)

I actually intentionally left out context because this is for a ficathon and I worried about giving too much away. But also because I wanted to leave it wide open for a range of ideas. And it yielded something completely unexpected that I think works. I may add in some other jokes though, and I'll definitely keep you in mind. Thanks.

I was really a shamefully bad child. Mainly because I was good enough at planning and lying that I never ever got caught. Plus when you are the only female (however tomboyish) who runs around with a whole bunch of anti-girl little boys you have to be meaner and tougher than they are to measure up and it stuck for a damn long time. *shame* But it makes for great stories. *grins*

Ah, I see why you would want to be mysterious then. Well best of luck with your story, can't wait to see how it turns out.
