April is National Poetry Month! As I did last year, I'll again endeavor to bring you two poems a day - one original, one by somebody else. Today's poems are really short, so I'm not going to cut tag. Enjoy!
First up, is one of my favorite poets. I think I may have posted this last year, but can't remember. It's so lovely in it's simplicity that I don't care if you've seen it before. :)
Poem #7 for b.b.L.
Baby
when you reach out
for me
I forget everything
except
I do try to remember
to breath
--June Jordan, Kissing Good Goodbye: Poems 1991-1997
And an original piece for
silvertedy.
First Friday
cross dangling, beads slip
through fingers and words through lips--
the Lord is with you
P.S. Anyone want to make me an icon for these posts? I had something last year that I made real quick and can't find. Plus, it was crap. I'll write a poem for you in thanks.
